Cancer Defined
A general term for an estimated 200 different kinds of diseases characterized by the abnormal and uncontrolled growth of cells derived from normal tissues; the unregulated, disorganized proliferation of cell growth. Cancers that arise in epithelial tissues are called carcinomas.
